First day back at school today. The kids were up before the alarm... bags packed, shoes on, full of energy. I give it three days.

It's that time of year when the weather keeps us guessing. This morning? Absolutely chucking it down. So we did the full prep: coats, cardigans, waterproofs, even the emergency umbrella that lives in the boot.

By the time we left the house, the sun had come out like it had something to prove. Layers started flying off. Cardigans stuffed into backpacks. Coats draped over arms.

Classic September. Never quite wearing the right outfit - but better to be overprepared than underdressed.
