What's your go-to dish? The food that you simply couldn't live without. Maybe you've
already planned your death row meal.
Do you splash out on something expensive? Or do you go for something homely and comforting?
My absolute favourite is probably lasagne. It's been my first choice since I was a child and, even
today, it's one of the first meals that comes to mind when I want to cook something I really like.
I'm also a massive fan of curries - and a biryani is a firm favourite of mine. When it comes to
desserts - probably banoffee pie.
In fact, when I think about it, I just love layered food. Lasagne, biryani, moussaka, hotpot, pizza,
banoffee pie, cheesecake, trifle... I think it's the blend of flavours and textures that I love. And
I don't think I'm alone in that.
Of course, it doesn't always work when cooking for the kids. To be fair, they all like lasagne. But
moussaka is a different story. The layers get separated because they want to pick out the aubergine.
And half of my family (including my wife) would take the same approach with banoffee pie, picking
off the banana.
I guess that's the way we are. We all have preferences and we often prefer one layer over another.
But, in my opinion at least, having all the layers together is a wonderful thing.
You're all expecting a cheesy link to slideAcross now aren't you? Something about how multilayered
presentations enable you to adapt to your audience's preferences and present the version of the
slide that is best suited to the room. But there's enough cheese on this lasagne for today I think.
